2015 Ford Fusion Review
The 2015 Ford Fusion hits the scene with an abundance of high-tech features, remarkable fuel economy, and unique styling. It handles with precision, provides a smooth ride, and is loaded with safeguards.
The Fusion is a lovely midsize sedan that’s suitable for every type of driver, from urban singles to suburban families. However, you’ll find that the Fusion handles much better than just about every other family friendly vehicle on the market. It’s a four-door, five-passenger sedan available in S, SE, and Titanium trims.
Let’s take a closer look at the new Fusion.
Under the Hood
This year’s Fusion is available with an array of engines. The S trim is equipped with a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine. The Titanium offers a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine.
While front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available for those who desire it, while most midsize sedans lack such an option.
The vehicle comes with an automatic transmission, as Ford has discontinued the manual transmission due to a lack of buyer interest. The Fusion hits a combined mpg of 29, making it an incredibly efficient sedan.
Fusion Safety Features
A rearview camera and an integrated blind spot mirror are standard on this year’s Fusion. There’s also an abundance of other high-tech electronic safeguards, including like adaptive cruise control, a blind spot warning system, and automatic parallel parking.
The S trim comes with full power accessories, keyless entry, air conditioning, a tilt/telescope steering wheel, 60/40 split folding rear seats, cruise control, a height-adjustable driver seat, a four-speaker stereo system, a CD player, a USB port/iPod interface, and voice-activated cell phone/SYNC audio.
The SE Fusion offers a six-speaker audio system with satellite radio, a rear center folding armrest, rear air ducts, an eight-way power driver seat with power lumbar, and a six-way power passenger seat.
The Fusion’s Luxury package tacks on leather upholstery, heated front seats, driver memory settings, a driver side mirror, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Drivers love the vehicle’s MyFord Touch driver interface technology. It has an easy-to-grasp user experience design that drivers of all ages will adopt with ease. The MyFord Touch Technology package also adds dual-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, an 8-inch central LCD touchscreen, an improved version of SYNC, and an RCA video input jack.
Titanium Fusions provide everything that the SE offers plus keyless entry/ignition, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, an HD radio, sport front seats, and a 12-speaker Sony sound system.
On the Outside
The S trim features automatic headlights and 16-inch steel wheels. The SE trim provides 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, and an exterior keypad entry. There’s also an Appearance package available for the SE that provides niceties such as a rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel, fog lights, and more. The Titanium trim adds a sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch wheels.
